While helping out in a children's home yesterday, i came across a little girl called Lydia. She saw the design of my mask during mask making session and told me to help her to do the same design for her mask. After helping her in a few strokes, i decided to teach her how to do it instead so that she will learn & can do it on her own in the future. Initially she enjoyed following my strokes and ins
tructions. But after a while, she grew impatient & demanded me to do everything for her. I told her, "No, i'm not going to do it for you but i'm going to teach you how to do it."

Lydia got angry with me & went to ask my other volunteer friend for help. While my friend was doing it for her, she came and shouted at me. "I don't like you. So selfish. Ask you to help me also don't help me. I hate you." I tried explaining to her but she just kept shouting at me.

After the session ended, i asked her how was her mask coming along. I was surprised when she apologized, "I am sorry for being angry at you."

I think sometimes we do act like Lydia. Being impatient, easily angered, wanting things our way and demanding God for a fast answer. But we fail to realize & see the bigger picture & plans that God have for us.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5
